วันที่ 5 สิงหาคม 2568 กระทรวงการต่างประเทศขอปฏิเสธข้อกล่าวหาตามรายงานข่าว และโพสต์บนโซเชียลมีเดียของรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงสารสนเทศกัมพูชา วันนี้ (5 สิงหาคม 2568) ที่ว่า ฝ่ายไทยกำลังวางแผนลอบสังหารประธานวุฒิสภา ฮุน เซน และนายกรัฐมนตรี ฮุน มาเนต โดยอ้างแหล่งข่าวกรองต่างประเทศนั้น ซึ่งข้อกล่าวหานี้ ขาดการไตร่ตรองอย่างมีเหตุผลโดยสิ้นเชิง และมีเจตนาเพียงเพื่อใส่ร้ายไทยเท่านั้น

ทั้งนี้ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศขอย้ำว่า การสร้างข่าวเท็จในขณะที่ทั้งสองฝ่ายอยู่ระหว่างการหารือ General Border Committee (GBC) นั้น นอกจากจะไม่สร้างสรรค์แล้ว ยังเป็นการทำลายเจตนารมณ์ของการหารือเพื่อคลี่คลายสถานการณ์อย่างสันติด้วย

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs denies the allegation that the Thai side is plotting to assassinate senior Cambodian officials

5 August 2025 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to refer to Cambodian news reports and a social media post by the Cambodian Minister of Information this morning containing the unfounded allegation that the Thai side is plotting to assassinate Senate President Hun Sen and Prime Minister Hun Manet, citing unnamed foreign intelligence sources. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs categorically denies this baseless allegation.

It should also be emphasized that disseminating false news in the midst of key discussions currently ongoing under the General Border Committee (GBC) framework is not only unconstructive, but threatens to seriously undermine the positive spirit of these discussions which are aimed at peacefully resolving the situation.
