วันที่ 12 พฤศจิกายน 2568 จากกรณีที่สื่อกัมพูชากล่าวหาไทยว่า “จัดฉากเป็นผู้วางระเบิดเอง” โดยอ้างหลักฐานจากภาพถ่ายดาวเทียมของประเทศมาเลเซีย และกล่าวหาว่าไทยสั่งซื้อทุ่นระเบิดมาใช้งานนั้น
พลตรี วินธัย สุวารี โฆษกกองทัพบก ออกมาชี้แจงว่า สิ่งที่สื่อกัมพูชาได้นำเสนอมา ทั้งหมดล้วนไม่เป็นความจริง เป็นวิธีการสกปรกรูปแบบเดิมๆ ยิ่งเมื่อพิจารณาจากภาพประกอบข่าวแล้ว เห็นได้ชัดว่ามีลักษณะเป็นการตกแต่งดัดแปลง ทำขึ้นเป็นการเฉพาะที่ไม่แนบเนียน เพื่อจะใช้หลอกลวงสังคม ทั้งในประเทศและสังคมโลกให้เข้าใจผิดฝ่ายไทย
ลักษณะพฤติกรรมดังกล่าวเป็นการส่อเจตนาที่จะปกปิด เบี่ยงเบนการกระทำอันเป็นการละเมิดต่อข้อตกลงระหว่างประเทศ และอนุสัญญาออตตาวาของตนเองในเรื่องการใช้ทุ่นระเบิด และการลักลอบวางทุ่นระเบิดมาอย่างต่อเนื่องตลอดระยะเวลาที่มีข้อตกลงหยุดยิงมา
กองทัพบกขอยืนยันอีกครั้งว่า ทุ่นระเบิดแบบ PMN-2 ที่ตรวจพบตามแนวชายแดนเป็นจำนวนมากนั้น กองทัพไทยไม่เคยมีไว้ในครอบครอง และไม่เคยมีอยู่ในระบบการจัดหาเพื่อใช้ในทางทหาร
ประกอบกับหลักฐานต่าง ๆ ที่ได้บันทึกรวบรวมไว้ที่ผ่านมา ล้วนชี้ชัดว่าเป็นทุ่นระเบิดของกัมพูชา ที่มีการนำวางใหม่ เพื่อใช้เป็นอาวุธซ่อนรูป คุกคามทำร้ายฝ่ายไทยอย่างแน่นอน
Royal Thai Army Confirms Cambodian Media Using “Same Old Dirty Tactics” with False Claims Thailand “Staged Landmine Attacks on Own Troops” to Cover Cambodia’s Ottawa Convention Violations
Following Cambodian media accusations that Thailand “staged its own landmine incidents,” citing satellite imagery from Malaysia and claims Thailand purchased landmines for use, Major General Winthai Suvaree, Army Spokesperson clarified that all Cambodian media reports are false and represent the same dirty tactics as before. Upon examining the images accompanying the reports, it’s clear they were crudely edited and fabricated specifically to deceive domestic and international audiences into misunderstanding Thailand’s position.
Such behavior indicates intent to conceal and deflect from Cambodia’s own violations of international agreements and the Ottawa Convention regarding landmine use, including continuous covert landmine placement throughout the ceasefire period.
Royal Thai Army reaffirms that the PMN-2 landmines discovered in large numbers along the border have never been in the Thai military’s possession or procurement system. All evidence collected conclusively shows these are Cambodian landmines that were newly planted as concealed weapons to threaten and harm Thai forces.
